-- Three Twin Cities authors Three books about Minnesota baseball
Father's Day shoppers will have no problem finding a gift for dads who are big fans of Minnesota baseball. Three Twin Cities baseball authors will sign copies of their books June 9 at the Borders in Woodbury. Dennis Brackin, whose Kent Hrbek's Tales from the Minnesota Twins Dugout was just published this spring, will be joined by Stew Thornley and Jim Thielman. Brackin’s book is just in time for this 20th reunion season of the ’87 World Champions. Thornley's book, Baseball in Minnesota: A Definitive History surveys all aspects of baseball in the state, making it the ideal gift for those interested in everything from amateur ball to the Minnesota Twins. Thielman's Cool of the Evening: The 1965 Minnesota Twins, focuses on a storm-filled summer when the team overcame injuries to key players and drew Upper Midwest fans to Metropolitan Stadium to see the New York Yankees' dominance of the American League reach its end. Thielman and Thornley will also sign books June 16 at the Coon Rapids Borders.
